Yusuf Yıldırım, MD was born in Artvin in 1974. After completing his primary and secondary education, he moved to İzmir in 1991 for the university education. He graduated from Ege University School of Medicine in 1997. Then specialized in General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology and (General) Surgical Oncology, respectively. He became Associate Professor in 2007, Clinical Chief in 2008 and Professor in 2013. In May 2014, he went to Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OHIO, United States) as visitor and Robotic Surgery trainee. In June 2015, he got a fellowship from the "American College of Surgeons" (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons: FACS) representing the international standard and quality in the science and art of surgery. He has more than 150 scientific articles, most of which published in international Science Citation Index (SCI) journals, and his works have been cited more than 1800 times (h-index: 26, source: Scholar.Google.com, 11/25/2023).
